Dear all I invite u all for a Brainstorming activity for the benefit of this beloved Forum me, Hamoza and little cat have become recently supervisors over this forum that has been nicely managed by Ironman and Marioma guys, I think we five have the potential to improve the forum for the best the main target is to improve presence and participation of members in this forum and increase their numbers How can we attract members to come over and enjoy this forum with us come on guys let's go brainstorming !! ملاحظة: the discussion is open for all regards

i discussed that with mariam but what we have to do is organize ourselves

so it wouldnt be only one person doing the contest, but maybe every few weeks another one takes over with a totally different contest

but it isnt the complete solution though

i think beside the contest we can organize a special thing in the forum

something that will bring others to discuss something with us

and that should involve all the forums

so maybe in this section we can do something about tourism, news or something that people will talk about now days

in the learning language section we can post a new lesson every couple of days, but the lesson is like a class so the viewers could ask u questions and u help them practice

in the learning english section: we can post a new topic on something totally new,, lets not post books a lot coz maybe somebody doesnt have time to read,, so we will do a simple lesson with a practice

in the islamic section we could do a short simple topics about islam,, like arguments,, but only islamic arguments,, like about a specific thing if u can or cant do

in the sports section lets put pics of players and pics of the games not only the news about it ,, and if possible some youtube links

The forum needs to be active indeed ,
I have noticed that many members FEEL shy to participate here, because of their english
we need to encourage them to join
this forum can be a great success , once it is active

I guess we need to reward the active members , conduct few intresting contests , post topics which interest members
or maybe when we post a topic we can also include it's translation in arabic

will come back to add more suggestions

yeah i agree with u marioma that some people r shy about their english level

but we cant really translare some topics

coz this is the english forums

but what we can do when they show up is encourage them

tell them how well they speak english

try to talk to them more and teach them if needed to

try to fix their grammar and spelling

I believe that we should utilize aljosor forum and take advantage of its purpose in a proper way.. I mean not to go far in this

the advertisement is more important than the thing itself

i agree with u its the thing that attracts people

but then the disadvantage of it would be that it will view the topic/contest in a different way

i have an idea of havin a topic in each section

in that topic the best and most important topics are always in there

so lets say in the learning language section

we have a thread with the title "all the important resources and important lessons" and then u add websites of what other members did

and maybe another called "books for beginners and advanced levels" ,, and then add all the websites to the topics

we should also have a topic called "Discussion Board" it will be very different from other topics coz this one will be in every section

the discussion board will be to discuss a topic u found interesting, something that happened and u want to knw what others think of,, a word u can describe in few words,, and whats so ever

maybe also add a thread in the learning english section, with the title "How my life changed" and in that u will write about the things that helped u speak english and some tips for other members (it will be like all the members write about themsolves)

WELL dear friend as you've mentioned earlier there seems to be a problem in the English forums
and the problem doesn't concern or relate, whatsoever , to the quality of the topics and threads which I daresay are
very good if not excellent
you know , sometimes I get disappointed when I prepare a huge topic which requires much effort and energy only to get one reply from Mariem hahah

but with the topics which are invisible unless you put a reply they get many ones

so we can conclude that Roro members are so lazy or maybe shy

you know , when someone doesn't master something or is not in control of the subject matter

one may feel embarrassed or shy since they want to seem perfect

and what strikes me more is that many members are English students nevertheless they hardly take part in our topics

so as quick steps I suggest 3 things while thinking over other ones

1- publicizing the forums and inviting our friends to see the topics and participate with us

2_ organizing some regular competitions and contests
and why not granting reward points and prizes to the active members

3 - each supervisor and moderator tries to post high quality threads
and focus on given sections

for instance , Hamza and Little cat in the Engraver
me and Malek in the sport and learning sections
Mariem in the islamic and Engraver etc

Besides, we have to cooperate better so that when one posts a topic we all try to comment and reply

when one is absent we try to substitute him or her

it's just a matter of organiztion and cooperation and everything will be all right

so no woman no cry looool
