recently u have heard about the rumors that is spreading around the world about the FAST FOOD restaurants supporting Israel

well all this is RUMORS

dont believe everything u read with out using ur brains

fallow my topic then u will find out how silly everyone were

lets begin,, and of course there r sources ,, so i didnt make anything up its what i read and believe in

first what is franchise?

the right or license granted by a company to an individual or group to market its products or services in a specific territory.

in other words it means if i had a restaurant called "roro",, and it is a very famous restaurant and everyone trusts me,, when mariam was thinking of starting a new business she started thinking "well if i named my restaurant (MARIOMA) then it will be new for everyone and it might take a long time until people get used to it and she will have low profit, and that can take long time,, but if she asked me as the owner of roro for a franchise,, then that will include me training her workers, decorating her restaurant to look like mine, and also give her a presentage for what she should pay me each month,,,, this means mariam will have a restaurant called "roro" , it is her restaurant with my name, and she for example pays me 20% of her profit every week,, and i will not be affected by any losses she makes in the business,, as well as i only have to open it for her and the rest she handle it herself

was it clear??

now lets start talking about the rumors

thy say all the American FAST FOOD restaurants sends donations every week for Israel to support it,, well the owners themselves said they never did

most of the FAST FOOD restaurants are actually a franchise ,, which means all these boycotts were useless

in the middle east a Kuwaiti family company owns about 80% of the franchises for the FAST FOOD restaurants,, so all this time u were harming a gulf, Arab, Muslim country ,, well done guys you did it but for the wrong person

let me bring some quotes from the manager of STAR BUCKS (coz i adore it and wont like to harm it) and then judge:

Is it true that Starbucks closed its stores in Israel for political reasons?
No. We do not make business decisions based on political issues. We decided to dissolve our partnership in Israel in 2003 due to the on-going operational challenges that we experienced in that market. After many months of discussion with our partner we came to this amicable decision. While this was a difficult decision for both companies, we believe it remains the right decision for our businesses.



Is it true that Starbucks is teaming with other American corporations to send their last several weeks of profits to the Israeli government and/or the Israeli Army?
No. This is absolutely untrue.


Do you work with a Middle East partner to operate Starbucks stores?
Through a licensing agreement with trading partner and licensee MH Alshaya WLL, a private Kuwait family business, Starbucks has operated in the Middle East since 1999. * McDonalds Corporation is a US company that franchises restaurants globally, and there are exclusive operating agreements in some foreign countries.

* McDonalds Saudi Arabia is in fact a franchise and licensee of the name, and is not owned by McDonalds Corporation.

* McDonalds in Israel is also a franchise and licensee of the name, and is not owned by McDonalds Corporation.

* McDonalds Israel and McDonalds Saudi Arabia are in no way connected as companies, other than independently and separately being franchises of the same parent company.

* As a franchise, each country can decide what fundraising projects they want to work on.

* Boycott Watch consulted with three reporters from different Israeli news organizations, two of which are known for being extremely critical of Yassir Arafat and the Palestinian Authority, and none were able to produce any evidence of any wrong doing or terrorism involvement by the Nasser Children's Hospital in Gaza.

* Internet research about the Nasser Children's Hospital in Gaza revealed no evidence of any involvement in any terrorism. In fact, the hospital appears to be exactly what it claims to be, a hospital for disabled children. We do not, however, have any detailed information about the hospitals operations. There is no way we can verify if money was sent to the hospital to purchase equipment, or if the equipment was purchased and shipped to Gaza as claimed.

* We believe that major medical equipment for any hospital in Gaza is most probably imported, and it is therefore plausible that equipment was purchased, donated and then shipped to the hospital in Gaza. Boycott Watch has found no evidence to doubt the claim.

* McDonalds in Israel was not part of the fundraising effort whatsoever. No dollars from any stores in Israel, therefore, went to this fundraising effort.

* McDonalds in the US was not part of the fundraising effort whatsoever. No dollars from any stores in US, therefore, went to this fundraising effort.

* McDonald's locations, worldwide, are engaged in efforts to raise money for children's hospitals, and the Saudi Arabia effort was consistent with that goal.

* McDonald's locations in Israel also engaged in efforts to raise money for children's hospitals which is consistent with McDonald's Corporation efforts.

* If a person in Saudi Arabia wanted to make a donation to a terrorist organization, they can do it in the open, and therefore do not need to hide it in a charity for a hospital. There is, therefore, no specific reason to mask donations through a hospital if that is what the email author concluded.

i remembered a very old rumor that people are still living on

Some people have been lead to believe that the Coca-Cola trademark can be translated to "No Mohammed, No Mecca" in Arabic when it is reversed and read from left to right


This claim is not true . The Coca-Cola trademark was created in 1886 in Atlanta, Georgia, at a time and place where there was little knowledge of Arabic.

The allegation has been brought before a number of senior Muslim clerics in the Middle East who researched it in detail and refuted the rumor outright.

During the late 1990s, a special committee of authorities in Saudi Arabia, with representatives from the Ministry of Islamic Affairs, the Ministry of the Interior and the Ministry of Trade, was formed to review the rumors against the Coca-Cola logo. The committee determined that there is no basis to these false allegations and that the Coca-Cola trademark does not connote anything defamatory to Islam. More recently, in May 2000, the Grand Mufti of Al-Azhar (the Islamic world's foremost institute) Sheikh Nasr Farid Wassel, said that "the trademark does not injure Islam or Muslims directly or indirectly." Moreover, he stated that Islam is against "the propagation of empty rumors and intended lies that affect either public or private interests."

a quick summery if u were too lazy to read

the topic is about the rummors that says the fast food resturants sends their profit to israel,, well i found out they are all rumors and there is something called a franchise

the owner of 80% of the franchise in the middle east is a kuwaiti family company

and the whole time the people were boycotting they wer harming the arabs not the americans

also the mone is actually sent to palestine but never israel

and so the source of the rumor came from israel coz they dont want to pay for the palestinians

a similar incident happened before , it was in catholic forum , where one member did something and spread it in arabic forums
and they were laughing at Muslim ppl's comments!
