Premiership side Wigan Athletic doubled their bid for Zamalek’s striker Amr Zaki to reach £4.1 million (EGP50 million) but Zamalek insisted on turning it down, Zaki’s agent said on Friday.
“ Wigan sent Zamalek a fax on Thursday evening renewing their request to sign Zaki, welcoming the player to undergo the medicals in England as soon as possible” Mohamed Saied, Zaki’s agent told Yallakora.com.
“ Wigan shown great flexibility to handle Zamalek’s financials requirements as they doubled the bid to reach Zamalek’s previous demands” saied added.
“ Zamalek, on the other hand, sent a fax to the English side making it clear that Zaki is not for sale” Saied sated.
Wigan have previously approached Zamalek to sign Zaki for £2 million, the offer which had been rejected by Zamalek as the Whites asked for £4.1 million.
“ Wigan offered Zaki a wage of £1.5 million (EGP15 million) per season” Saied concluded.
It is worth mentioning that Wigan’s bid for Zaki (EGP50 million) is considered the highest among all the Egyptian players’ ones.
